Our crystals are Graded by the Quality of the specimen...As No two Crystals are alike, there is not a set grading system but Most Herkimer Diamond Miners and Buyers tend to agree with the following Grading System or Guidelines we use....

Grade AAA

The crystals that fall into this category are Simply Perfect, Flawless to the naked eye from All Angles. There are No visible internal inclusions, cloudiness or contact marks... Sparkling Water Clear....Theses are Very Rare, Extremly Hard to find Crystals...Perfect is Not a word to be used Casually or Often in Nature...Perfect Is Perfect...

Grade AA

The crystals that fall into this category are at least 95% perfect, Nearly Flawless to the naked eye from all angles. There are little to no visible internal inclusions, cloudiness or contact marks. Sparkling water-clear...

Grade A

The crystals that fall into this category are almost perfect. ..There are few minor flaws such as very small attachment marks and inclusions. The flaws should not exceed more than 10% of the crystal and do not take away from the overall clarity of the crystal and both termination points are present. The crystal is still sparkling water-clear....

Grade B

The crystals that fall into this category will have some flaws like larger contact or attachment marks, inclusions or fractures. There may be small termination point damage. These flaws should not exceed more than 25% of the overall crystal. Most of the crystal is still sparkling and somewhat clear...

Grade C

These crystals have extreme cloudiness from internal fractures, larger attachment marks and inclusions, and missing or damaged termination points. Theses flaws should not exceed more than 40% of the crystal and All Crystals shoulf have at least one good termination point...

Grade D or Construction Quality

The "Crystals" that fall into this category are very rough grade Crystals or Pieces. They are very cloudy from internal fractures, missing termination points, large contact marks and inclusions. Theses flaws will exceed more than 40% of the Crystal...Excellent for Flower Pots, Outdoor Grids,Foundations & Gardens,or maybe just for building your own Herkimer Diamond Crystal Castle!....
